APOLOGY
To Mag Kearney, David Baldi and Sue Thomas Mitchell
From Clubs Victoria
On the 13 December 2010 Clubs Victoria held a meeting of members.
At that meeting, Mr Richard Evans, the Executive Director, presented a PowerPoint presentation and took questions from members.
Part of the presentation and some answers given by Mr Evans were capable of being interpreted as suggesting Mag Kearney, David Baldi and Sue Thomas-Mitchell, had deliberately misled the Council and were to be blamed for the financial performance and outcomes of Clubs Victoria during the period between 2008 and 2010.
Clubs Victoria, the Council and Mr Evans acknowledge that Mag Kearney, David Baldi and Sue Thomas-Mitchell faithfully, diligently and appropriately represented members’ interests, in accordance with Council’s direction and guidance.
Clubs Victoria recognises Mag Kearney, David Baldi and Sue Thomas-Mitchell invested tangible and intangible effort to develop Clubs Victoria to its position as the leading sector representative body over many years and the organisation remains thankful for their efforts.
Council of Clubs Victoria acknowledges it was fully informed by its management and approved management’s direction and approach. Any suggestion that Council was misled by Mag Kearney, David Baldi and Sue Thomas-Mitchell is incorrect and is unequivocally withdrawn. Likewise the unfortunate suggestion that Mag Kearney, David Baldi and Sue Thomas-Mitchell were negligent is also unequivocally withdrawn.
Clubs Victoria, The Council and Mr Evans acknowledge that significant distress has been caused to Mag Kearney, David Baldi and Sue Thomas-Mitchell and acknowledges that their reputations have been unreasonably impugned and withdraw each and every imputation that could have been drawn from the presentation and sincerely apologise to Mag Kearney, David Baldi and Sue Thomas-Mitchell.
For the avoidance of any doubt; Clubs Victoria, the Council and Mr Evans withdraw any allegation, suggestion or imputation contained in the presentation that could suggest that any adverse conclusion ought to be drawn against Mag Kearney, David Baldi and Sue Thomas-Mitchell in respect to their management during their employment with Clubs Victoria and unreservedly apologise to each of them for the distress as a result of the presentation.
